“Possessing an eclectic range of influences stretching from classic hard rock, through AOR, ’80s Glam Metal, ’90s American power pop... these fuse faultlessly to form a sound that is stacked full of infectious melodies, grandiose vocal and instrumental harmonies plus colossally catchy choruses. It is this musical melting pot that makes Star Circus so fascinating.” - Sophie James (MetalTalk)
What a Weekend!
Now that our ears have stopped ringing and we've caught up on sleep, we would like to thank Raz White and the Upstaged team for putting on a fantastic line-up of bands for Saturday's Trailblazer event at Nightrain, Bradford. Such a fantastic array of performances throughout the day, and lots of fun meeting and catching up with everyone. Prymå, Richy Neill and the Reinforcements, Circus 66, God Damn Smile, Square Wild, Deepshade, UNTIL 9 and Atlanta's finest rockers, headliners Kickin Valentina (special thanks to guitarist Heber Pampillon for taking the time to chat with us after the show). Hope we get to share a stage again with all of you, at Call Of The Wild Festival or otherwise! Also, fantastic to play the famous Giffard Arms, supporting Gorilla Riot on Friday. Much thanks to Brett Hall for setting that up. Can't wait to get back on the road and rock you all again! Above are a few awesome shots from Saturday by Mark Ellis Photography

Hey Circus Freaks! Our 4th single, 'BRIDGES' is out now, available exclusively on BandCamp (follow the MERCHANDISE link above). We're super proud of the track. It's the first single to be released of the final mixes and masters that will feature on our forthcoming album, 'Separate Sides'.
The video is a celebration of the great shows we've played over the last year since live music restrictions were lifted last July, so please check it out here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb5Vkg1a-ms Hope you enjoy it, more news coming soon! Here we go!

Let's rock! Star Circus are thrilled to have got the industry vote at our Quarter Final Heat of the Isle of Wight New Blood Competition. It also marked the debut show of our new guitarist Jon Crampton!
Jon has stepped in following the departure of Riccardo, who is leaving the UK for the rocky landscapes of Montenegro. We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Jon, an accomplished player, having toured extensively with blues-rock icons Black State Highway and worked closely with Dave in Trophies Of Man. Out of the thousands of hopefuls that entered the competition, only a handful now remain in the Semi-Finals. These artists are some of the most exciting and promising acts on the scene and will all be competing for a coveted slot at Isle of Wight Festival 2022! So make your voice heard and come root for us us at 93 Feet East on Friday 15th April 2022! TICKET LINK: https://bit.ly/3C5Xlg4 FACEBOOK EVENT: https://bit.ly/3wfhDCA Well, well, well. What a year!
The past 4 months have been awesome, having done no fewer than 10 shows in Camden, Holloway, Kent, Kingston and Leicester. Playing my old home-from-home the Underworld again after so many years was a fantastic highlight. It's really, really good to be back. We have so much exciting stuff in the pipeline for next year. In the meantime, as 2021 draws to a close, we have but one final show left. Fittingly, it's a Camden Rocks event much like the one that kicked things off back in July. Come party with us at the Dublin Castle on 28th November one last time, before we kiss this bizarre year goodbye! http://camdenrocks.seetickets.com Here's to the future, raise your glasses! Dave xx Star Circus made a triumphant return to the stage on 24th July 2021 at the Camden Assembly, co-headlining an all day Camden Rocks event with The Kut.
But the show very nearly got derailed when the whole band was struck down with Covid 19 two weeks earlier. Luckily Dave, Sophie and Thomas were showing fast signs of recovery, and with non-refundable tickets sold and people travelling in from miles outside London we were able to perform as a power-trio! In addition to this, it was Sophie's first show on bass, and she played like a demon! Riccardo is now fully recovered and we are rehearsing up a set for a whole bunch of London shows in August and September. Check out our Live page for all forthcoming gigs, and we hope to see you all down the front soon! Over 4,000 views in 3 days! What madness is this? If you haven't checked out our awesome new video yet, click the picture above and prepare to be massively entertained for a little under 5 minutes! Also, please subscribe to our YouTube channel here:
https://youtube.com/channel/UCSlcITF_Y2Owlk9DHQACZKg Massive love to everyone who has supported us already! 'Just Like in a Movie', single number 3 from our forthcoming album, is out now! You can see the insanely awesome video here, It's had over 100 likes in 3 hours, so check it out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHKdr7KZjow You can also buy the track on all the usual platforms, along with our Bandcamp page: https://starcircus.bandcamp.com/track/just-like-in-a-movie "If you’ve ever watched a really inspiring film and thought ‘I’m gonna wake up tomorrow and life’s gonna be totally different. I’m gonna appreciate every moment, take some huge chances, reach for the stars, love every person I meet…’. Then you actually wake up and life goes back to normal and do none of that, you can probably relate to this song. There’s a positive sentiment that with a bit of a kick we can live like our heroes, but it’s grounded in very British sarcasm and apathy ‘On this fairground ride, where nothing changes and everybody’s fine/ Another day stuck inside, inside your movie…'" Hey Circus-Freaks! We are super excited to announce our first show of 2021, just as the world recovers from the Apocalypse in time for Summer!
Camden Rocks presents an all day event at the Black Heart with a host of awesome rock and metal acts including superb headliners Reverted along with Rival Karma, Janus Stark, Bleeding Antlers, Thousand Thoughts, Season of Ghost, Jason Payne, The Blood Republic, Tales of Perdition, Red Light Acid Test and our good selves at 6:30pm. There's gonna be an after party at the Underworld too! Doors - 1pm to 10:45pm // £10 Adv. // 18+ Get tickets here:- http://camdenrocks.seetickets.com More info here: Camden Rocks All Dayer Dave had an important birthday during lockdown. Sadly we couldn't all celebrate together like previous years, so what we did instead was record a charity single for the NHS.
It's a special acoustic version of 'Before The Song Is Over', totally different to the one on the forthcoming album. Featuring live members of Terrorvision, Carcass & The Sisters of Mercy and a host of other friends, it's a beautiful rendition of this anthemic and uplifting song, accompanied by the YouTube video above featuring all 15 of us recording our parts at home, before everyone else made the same video! :-) |
